There was a time in my life when I had a very, very set routine. I did the same thing most days. I had this particular life that I had built, but at the end of the day,
If You Want Something D
You’ve heard it before; If you want something different you have to do something different.
I knew for a long time that I wanted something different. I knew that I didn’t want to be in corporate America or work a standard 9-5 job. Working a 9 to 5 isn’t a bad thing, and it works great for a lot of people. It gives you stability and security, but it wasn’t for me. Even though I didn’t want that, in order to build my business, it is exactly what I had built for myself.
After years of working this routine, I realized that it had taken hold of my life and I was afraid of letting go of it. My routine had captured me, and when I realized it, I started working on my escape plan.
These days, I still maintain some amount of routine because you need that to build a business, but I stay cognizant of where I am and if I am working towards my goals or just working. Even with this in mind, sometimes it’s still hard to escape from being owned by my routine.
Not A Lesson, A Challenge.
So rather than a lesson today, what I’m going to give you guys a challenge.
I CHALLENGE YOU TO:
Take 10 minutes out of your day each day this week to find the number one aspect of your routine that owns you and take control of that habit. Take that time to think about what you’re doing and make a change that will help you become something better than you are now by owning your routine instead of being owned by it.
